Mental Health in Older Adults

This free workshop will explore mental health issues in the older adult. Discuss depression, anxiety, and other disorders that can arise as well as coping strategies and resources. Loretta Juarez-Wagner and Andrew Bussman are both Washington State Licensed Clinical Social Workers at the Northwest Hospital Geropsychiatric Center who work as group therapists for seniors in the Intensive Outpatient Program. Public Health—Seattle & King County has announced the topics for the Spring 2016 King County Emergency Support Function 8 briefing for local emergency managers, healthcare partners, community-based organizations and public health information officers. These biannual briefings feature updates on plans, research and other issues that Public Health is addressing to ensure that King County is prepared for an ESF 8 emergency response. The March brief will include presentations on transition of the vulnerable populations work to the new Community Resilience + Equity Program; administrative preparedness; a new direction for alternate care planning; Public Health Reserve Corps and workforce mobilization; and an update on the Zika virus.
